About Ducky's Animal Home

Ducky's Animal home was made to help players understand the responsibilites that come with pet ownership.
Ducky owns an animal shelter and has been caring for the animals they take in alone, but when more animals are being brought in, it becomes to difficult to maintain the care of the animals and the care of the facility itself. Therefore, they call on you, the player, to take on the role of caring for these animals. Each animal has their own happiness bar and this is filled by interacting and doing daily tasks such as feeding. After finishing the To Do list, the day ends and Ducky talks about what went well before beginning a new day.
Across the globe, dogs and cats homelessness has been an ongoing issue as they do not have safe places to go home to and are often neglected by humans on the street. Well maintained animal shelters provide that space for them have a roof over their head and get any healthcare they may need. But with so many animals out there, it is hard for shelters to keep up, which is where the help from the public is needed. By adopting a pet, you can save two animals: the one you adopt, and the one that gets to take their place in the shelter.

How can I help if I am unable to adopt?

Nothing is ever to small, here are a few ways you can help:
- Spreading awareness > talking to friends and family about the issues overlooked in animal shelters can help make others
not only aware but also consider the possibility of adopting.
- Volunteering > there are many opportunities to volunteer and most shelters/charities have direct links on the webpage as
to where you can sign up!
- Donating > Whether it's $1 or $10 all donations are welcome. These help with maintaining, feeding, even vet care for the animals
There are plenty of organisations, even your local shelters who need help but to name a few:

Expanding on the posters in the game:

In the veterinary room, the poster spoke about spaying and neutering pets. Some people may be against such operation but it is beneficial for both the community and the animals. As shelters often do not have the space for all homeless dogs and cats, some are left to free-roam on the street. These animals are left to their own devices which result in a growing population of puppies and kittens, therefore the most effective way to reduce this is to neuter or spray them and release them back to their territories. This is especially important to reduce the health risks which can develop from breeding such as reproductive cancers and pyometra which is a life threatening infection of the uterus. These are only a few of the reasons why spaying and neutering is important but there are many more out there.
